I set the price of the banner ads years ago at $100/year. After the club was incorporated, they jacked the price up to somewhere around $250/year, I think (I don't remember for sure) and it's been in that area ever since. I don't know why they jacked it... probably assumed that a banner ad on the COC web site was more valuable than I had priced it at.

how was the banner cost set? Why did it go up?
more money is better than none, and I think $100 is reasonable.

$100 sounds reasonable.

I think reducing the cost of banner ads is more than justified based simply on the decrease in traffic our site has seen over the past few years. $100 works for me!

A related question - we currently haven't got a Sponsorship Coordinator. Is anyone interested in taking on that role? See https://www.calgaryoutdoorclub.com/aboutus/help.asp page for more info.
I don't think this needs to be a big role. It would mainly involve receiving the sponsorship e-mails (which are very few and far between) and adding banner ads when/if we sell any.
If you want to grow the role to include everything outlined on the page linked above, I'm not going to stop you, but that will be up to you. :)

Banner ads have never been lucrative for the COC, but when the price was nearly tripled years ago, it pretty much dried up the banner ad business that we did get. Would love to see some more/different banner ads on the site. Let's reduce the cost and maybe do some sales. I would put a banner ad on the site for my "Pandemic Merit Badges" if the cost was lowered.
Do we want to lower the cost of Banner Ads? I suggest $100/year, which is what it was before. Open to other ideas.
